Physical CDs make great stocking stuffers!

It's also free on Spotify and other streaming services. It helps if you "Follow" me as an artist on there. You can also Like my Music Facebook page to help share my work. Thanks!

I've sung to the radio and in the shower my whole life, but never, in a million years, did I think I would sing in public.

Nor did I ever think I would play guitar, although it sounded fun. I started playing ukulele in 2016 and guitar soon after.

Old dogs can learn new tricks!

It turns out that, while I'm no amazing diva, it's not terrible to listen to, and some people even tell me that it makes a difference to their lives, to hear this music. And that just amazes me. 🙂

Most of what I write about is dog-related but is also about life and the world we live in.

Here are some videos of songs I've written. Subscribe to my YouTube channel and look at the Music playlist there to see more videos. Thanks for listening!

"BAT Song (Get There)"  - When we feel safe, we heal

I wrote this song from the perspective of a dog who's learning to overcome fear. It urges us to create safe spaces and then let the dog learn at his own pace. This is the philosophy of Behavior Adjustment Training (BAT), so that's why it's called the BAT song.

Behavior Adjustment Training is a socialization technique method that increases calm, relaxed behavior for both the dog and their humans. It actually works for a lot of different species, too, like horses and goats.

Through the BAT process, we create opportunities for a dog to interact organically with the environment in emotionally and physically safe ways. The result is an adaptable team that is ready for the world.

This video shows before/after clips of BAT. To learn more about BAT in action and how BAT developed, attend my Dec 12 webinar on the Evolution of BAT: https://grishastewart.com/event/batevolution

Lyrics:
Oh, I thank you for
Showing me I’m free
To live the life I need

To run away or stay and play,
It’s all up to me,
To live the life I need

I'll get there when I get there
Wait for me, my friend
Give me space to face my fear
And learn to love again

I'll get there when I get there
Let me lead the way
The road you walk will work for you
But not for me today

Oh, I thank you for
Showing me I’m free
To live the life I need

To run away or stay and play,
It’s all up to me,
To live the life I need

I'll get there when I get there
Take a break to breathe
Take the time to take things in
And leave the choice to leave

I'll get there when I get there
Sometimes I need your help
Now I'm fine so let me try
To live my life myself

I'll get there when I get there
I'll follow my nose
Answers blowing in the wind
Will guide me as I go

I'll get there when I get there
Straight street's not for me
The path I take will twist and turn
My feet need to be free
To live the life I need

To run away or stay and play,
It’s all up to me,
To live the life I need
To love the life I lead

"Ordinary Days"  - Savor the little moments

Lyrics:

Bike rides and sunshine
Swimming like fishes
Music and dancing
Washing the dishes

Books and games
Naps in the hammock
Painting the walls
Breaking old habits

My favorite pictures
Weren’t taken with a camera
They’re memories
Alive in my heart

I love those ordinary days
Ordinary days

Taking dogs to the beach
Strawberries with honey
Drumming real loud
And acting funny

Cat catching mice
Getting all muddy
Camping with the night stars
Neighborhood buddies

My favorite pictures
Weren’t taken with a camera
They’re memories
Alive in my heart

I love those ordinary days
Ordinary days

Every day’s a gift
Every day’s a gift
Every day’s a gift with you!

"Enough" (CC) - Because we all belong

Lyrics:

I've got a beating heart, just like you
Just like you
I've got a beating heart, just like you
Just like you
I need to belong, just like you
I crave to belong, just like you

I am enough, you are enough
Don't doubt it baby, don't doubt your love
I am enough, you are enough
Don't doubt it baby, please don't give up

I need to be safe, just like you
I need to be safe, just like you, just like you
Just like you

I need to be free and satisfied, just like you
Free and satisfied, just like you
Just like you

I am enough, you are enough
Don't doubt it baby, don't doubt your love
I am enough, you are enough
Don't doubt it baby, please don't give up

I've got a beating heart, just like you
Just like you
I've got a beating heart, just like you
Just like you

I am enough, you are enough
Don't doubt it baby, don't doubt your love
I am enough, you are enough
Don't doubt it baby, please don't give up

Please don't give up
You are enough
Please don't give up
You are enough
Please don't give up
You are enough
Please don't give up

"One Breath at a Time" with cello, bass, and drum back-up in Sisters, Oregon:

Lyrics:

"I'm not worthy
I don't fit in
They're too cool
I'm weak and they're strong"

"They all know
How to do this
I'm just faking
I don't belong"

But then I
realize
I've fallen for
My old lies

I breathe in
Breathe out
Let go of my
Childhood doubt

I breathe
I breathe

"If I'm not perfect
They will hate me
When I fail
I'll die alone"

"They don't want me
At the their table
Don't deserve a tribe
of my own"

But again I
realize
I've fallen for
My old lies

I breathe in
Breathe out
Let go of
Childhood doubt

I breathe
I breathe

I blow my
Own mind
I'm alive
One breath at a  time
