Read MoreI am finding that the more I teach BAT techniques early in my relationship with clients, even when the dog does not need it, the basic relationship between dog and owner is much smoother and more connective! I work with a lot of adolescent dogs though, who come from semi-feral or neglected histories. Because I live in an area with extreme poverty, and cultural differences regarding human/animal relationships, many dogs end up in local shelters who have had little to no positive human interaction, and most of them are in that sort of "teenage" stage of life, where they are taking many more risks and pushing boundaries. While normal, it can present a specific challenge in a dog with notions that humans may not be the best and who have learned to survive without human interaction, and adoptive owners are often not prepared for the challenges! BAT 2.0 has stepped up to help me build a lasting and wonderful relationship in most cases for these situations! I am very grateful!
