Congratulations! You made it to the end of the material for this course. Here is my final advice.
- Get started on the food bowl exercise. Take your time with this. Slow and steady is good. Film it and see if there’s any way you can make it easier for your puppy.
- Practice bring/drop in one or both ways described above. Again, expect this to take time.
- Make a list of skills that you would like to teach your puppy to prevent or solve problems. Prioritize them based on your individual puppy, and check back to your list from time to time.
- Do 3 treat parties per day for the next month and then once a week throughout your puppy’s first year. Vary the locations.
- Continue practicing the cooperative grooming exercises from last week until they are usable in real life.
- Continue socialization with other puppies, dogs, and people throughout your dog’s first year. Keep socializing beyond that as well, but the first year is especially important.
